Description
This tuna salad is the perfect combo of spice, sweetness from relish, and brightness from the lemon. Packed with protein, crunchy celery, and onion for texture, it’s great on a salad, as a snack, or even in a classic tuna melt. Simple, flavorful, and versatile!
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cans tuna (I used albacore)
- 1/3 cup mayo (I used avocado mayo)
- 1/4 cup minced white onion (about 1/2 small white onion)
- 1/4 cup minced celery (peel outer skin, about 1 large stalk)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (about 1/2 medium-sized lemon)
- 2 tbsp sweet relish
- 2 tsp white vinegar
- 4 dashes hot sauce (I used Crystal hot sauce)
- 1 tsp salt (I used Diamond kosher salt)
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp paprika
Instructions
- Start by chopping the celery and onion. Set them aside.
- Open the tuna cans and drain the water. Transfer the tuna to a medium-sized bowl and use a spoon to break it down into small pieces.
- Add the remaining ingredients and mix everything together until well combined.
- Enjoy as is, on top of a salad, or in a delicious tuna melt!
Notes
- One of my favorite Albacore tuna brands is Wild Planet.
- This tuna salad keeps well in the fridge for a few days, making it a great option to prep in advance for a quick, protein-packed meal whenever you need it.
