Description

This tuna salad is the perfect combo of spice, sweetness from relish, and brightness from the lemon. Packed with protein, crunchy celery, and onion for texture, it’s great on a salad, as a snack, or even in a classic tuna melt. Simple, flavorful, and versatile!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cans tuna (I used albacore)
  • 1/3 cup mayo (I used avocado mayo)
  • 1/4 cup minced white onion (about 1/2 small white onion)
  • 1/4 cup minced celery (peel outer skin, about 1 large stalk)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (about 1/2 medium-sized lemon)
  • 2 tbsp sweet relish
  • 2 tsp white vinegar
  • 4 dashes hot sauce (I used Crystal hot sauce)
  • 1 tsp salt (I used Diamond kosher salt)
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Start by chopping the celery and onion. Set them aside.
  2. Open the tuna cans and drain the water. Transfer the tuna to a medium-sized bowl and use a spoon to break it down into small pieces.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and mix everything together until well combined.
  4. Enjoy as is, on top of a salad, or in a delicious tuna melt!

Notes

  • One of my favorite Albacore tuna brands is Wild Planet.
  • This tuna salad keeps well in the fridge for a few days, making it a great option to prep in advance for a quick, protein-packed meal whenever you need it.
